Why Bees Circle School
We are a quaint kindergarten and primary school registered with the Kiambu County Education Board. We offer authentic and high-quality competence-based blended learning that integrates and adapts the national curriculum with Montessori and UK education.
With small class sizes (12 to 18 children per class), friendly, high qualified and experienced teachers, and a broad range of subjects and activities, our philosophy is to foster your child’s independence, love of learning, and a positive sense of self in a stimulating and nurturing environment, where children are valued and cared for as individuals, while being supported and encouraged to develop their potential.
As a Christian school, not only are our moral values based on the Bible, but also, we have an exciting Bible-based pastoral care and character values programme that blends Christian values in moulding children’s character.
Anchored on the theme “teaching children how to live, not just how to make a living”, the programme covers topics such as obedience, respect, honesty, forgiveness, thankfulness, courage, modesty, self-control, diligence etc.
Learner’s voice
We believe children offer unique perspectives to life experiences at school, and we have a strong commitment to listening to the views, wishes and experiences of all children.
Our ethos of mutual respect and friendliness between children and teachers creates the ideal atmosphere for teaching and learning.
The teachers create regular opportunities for children to share their views with each other and school staff and they are made to know that what they say is valued and will be listened to and considered.
Freedom to explore
We have two outdoor play and learning spaces and our lessons include plenty of time outside where the children have space and freedom to explore their interests!
We enjoy experiential learning trips to farms, Karura forest, factories, the Nairobi museum and many other places to enable our children to broaden their knowledge of the world around them.
Positive and productive communication
We have an open door communication policy between Parents and teachers. You are also invited to attend class assemblies, concerts, plays and special events throughout the year.
We hold Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs) each term during when Parents can view their children’s work and chat to our teachers.
Parents are free to visit the school every Friday afternoon and meet the child’s teacher and discuss the child’s learning journey.
Every child has a home/school diary where messages about reading and any homework are recorded and Parents can write messages back to us.
Physical & extracurricular activities
Proven benefits of sport include improved hand-eye coordination, honing of fine and gross motor movements, team work and leadership skills.
At Bees Circle, healthy living and being active is at the heart of our philosophy. Each week, all children benefit from PE and outdoor games sessions.
We also offer a wide range of sports extra-curricular activities which include floor ball/soft hockey, soccer, ballet, skating, taekwondo, basketball, swimming @ Phoenicia Hotel etc.
Food
We believe that healthy eating is vital for future lifestyle. Our selection of health snacks and lunches include fresh vegetables, fruits, and lots of wholesome cooked food, milk and water.
We limit salt, sugar, flavours or preservatives.
Security
We recognize that safety and security of your child is paramount while in our care.
